LSU football rides a two-game win streak into a Week 6 tilt with Kentucky. The contest marks a jump back into SEC play for the remainder of 2026 as the Tigers wrapped up their non conference slate with a Week 5 victory over McNeese.
After dismantling the Cowboys 63-14, LSU maintained its national standing in ESPN's Football Power Index (FPI) at No. 8 with a 22.0 rank. The Tigers are one of five teams from the SEC in the top 10 of the statistic, which measures a team's strength based on expected point margin against an average opponent on a neutral field.
Georgia (28.2) dropped out of the top spot in favor of Ohio State (28.8). Texas (27.6), Alabama (27.0) and Tennessee (18.5) all occupy top-10 spots. LSU faces the Longhorns, the Crimson Tide and Volunteers in November as part of a loaded conference schedule.
Head coach Lane Kiffin and his team bring a 4-1 record into a road contest at Kentucky. The Wildcats aim for their second upset victory on Saturday after taking down a ranked Texas A&M squad earlier in 2026. They come off an overtime win over South Carolina in Week 5.
