This weekend is a massive one for the Kentucky football team and coach Will Stein. They play the No. 10 LSU Tigers Saturday night in one of their biggest games in recent memory. However, it's also now a huge night for the future, with multiple elite recruits set to be in attendance, including five-star defensive tackle Kellan Hall.

Since Stein took over the head coaching duties in Lexington, he has sought to upgrade the talent level with the program. He did that through the transfer portal this season, but has since begun to attract top recruits.

Quarterback Jack Nawrot was the first big piece to commit to Kentucky, then multiple other four-star players have committed for 2027. Stein is shooting even higher, and is making headway with elite players, including some that will be in town for the big game this weekend.

Kellan Hall changes plans, heads to Lexington

Defensive lineman Kellan Hall is one of the most coveted recruits in the 2028 class. The Louisville product put Kentucky in his final 10 schools, but reports are that the Wildcats have a real shot to land him. He was originally scheduled to visit Ohio State on Saturday, but is making the trip to Lexington for the LSU game instead according to Steve Wiltfong of Rivals. It would be a program-changing commitment for the Wildcats if they can get it done.

Grayden Reid visiting Kentucky instead of Alabama

Like Hall, Grayden Reid originally planned to be elsewhere this weekend, in his case Alabama. Instead, he'll also be in town to watch Kentucky vs LSU. Reid is ranked as the No. 19 overall player, and the No. 4 cornerback, in the 2028 class by 247Sports. The 6'3", 185 lb DB has all the makings of a star, and could transform the secondary.

Ja'Hyde Brown would be an impressive flip

Wide receiver Ja'Hyde Brown is already committed to Louisville, but multiple teams are working to flip him. He is rising in the rankings, and is having a dominant senior season in high school. For now, he says he's sticking with the Cardinals, but he'll be in town, and Coach Stein will be sure to try and change that.

Allen Evans is another flip candidate

Brown isn't the only player Stein is looking to flip. Cornerback Allen Evans committed to Vanderbilt back in June, but Stein is working to bring him to Lexington instead. He is currently ranked as the No. 76 overall player in 2027, and the No. 8 cornerback. His decision to come to town Saturday is a good start for the Wildcats.
