USC football won last week against Washington, but it was a victory that was far from impressive. Beating Penn State on the road in front of a whiteout would show this USC football team is on the right track.
Here is how Week 6 will play out for the USC Trojans against the Penn State Nittany Lions:
Jayden Maiava will be lethal on the road
Last season, it was the win against Iowa. This season, it will be a win against Penn State. Jayden Maiava will improve his draft stock and earn some more credibility by taking down Penn State on the road. He will have to be sharp, and it would not hurt if he used his legs. Penn State is in need of a great defensive performance; Maiava will not allow that. Jayden Maiava will lead an effective performance and help the Trojans maintain an impressive record.
King Miller will have another dominant game against a Big Ten opponent
King Miller had an impressive run last season as he had a couple of 100-yard performances against Big Ten opponents. This could be his big performance. Lincoln Riley continues to steer away from the run game, even when it is being extremely effective. King Miller will be undeniable this game. Miller will run for 100 yards and a touchdown. While he will be successful in his own right, he will also pave the way for Jayden Maiava to be dangerous in the passing attack. King Miller and Jayden Maiava will be the biggest reasons that the Trojans have offensive success on the road.
The freshmen will headline this game
Many of the Trojans' wins have been at the hands of their freshmen playing their part. This game will be no different. Luke Wafle will play his part and wreak havoc. The Trojans will have their most productive offensive players be freshmen. Kayden Dixon-Wyatt and Ethan Feaster will both come up clutch for Jayden Maiava.
Ta'Mere Robinson will be impactful again
Robinson, in his first start, made the most of his opportunity, making a ton of plays. He will be extremely valuable to the Trojans' defense moving forward. Week 6 will reflect that. Robinson has earned some more snaps for this game. If he gets another chance, the Trojans know he will show up. Nonetheless, I think he will have another week where he makes a ton of plays, even if he does not get the start.
Jontez Williams will pick off Rocco Becht
Jontez Williams has come close before, however, this week he will finally get his first interception at USC. Rocco Becht has thrown 3 interceptions in the past 2 games. He can be reckless at times; this will be a game where Jontez Williams will show off his ball skills. Williams first interception will also end up being a huge momentum swing.
