Penn State sets Beaver Stadium attendance record at White Out game

The crowd at the annual White Out game at Penn State‘s Beaver Stadium on Saturday, Oct. 10, broke the previous attendance record at the iconic stadium. USC, which earned a 31-23 victory, was the 2026 opponent for the first time in White Out history. Michigan and Ohio State are the most frequent opponents.
A total of 114,419 spectactors attended the game in the second-largest stadium in the country for the primetime contest. It is the fourth-largest attendance in college football history.

White Out game origins
The White Out game tradition began in 2004. It is traditionally a primetime game, but some have occurred during the day.
Fans take the wardrobe direction seriously with some donning white from head to toe.
White Out tickets tend to be the most expensive of the season because the environment at this game has been described as the best in college football.
Penn State’s recent two-game losing streak dropped the White Out ticket prices this season but never dampens the enthusiasm of the Nittany Lion faithful.

Tailgaters not included in Beaver Stadium attendance
At any given White Out game, 25,000 fans can be found tailgating outside Beaver Stadium. This is in addition to the 114,000 plus inside the game.
With elaborate food and drink spreads as well as decked out RVs, the Penn State football fandom will not be stymied even if the team has delivered disappointing results.
Counting this year’s USC contest, Penn State has a 13-10 record in White Out games.
