USA Today releases college football top 25 coaches poll after crazy Week 6

USA Today has officially released the newest top 25 coaches poll after Week 6 of the 2026 college football season concluded on Saturday.

Saturday featured some electric matchups, including the Red River Rivalry between Texas and Oklahoma, Alabama-Georgia, Kentucky-LSU, and even Indiana-Nebraska.

Some of these results helped shape the new coaches’ poll, especially the Texas-Oklahoma game. Oklahoma upset top-ranked Texas, and the latter has dropped a bit in the new coaches’ poll.

Here’s a full look at the Week 6 coaches poll for the 2026 season.

About the coaches poll

“The US LBM Coaches Poll is conducted weekly throughout the regular season using a panel of head coaches at Football Bowl Subdivision schools,” USA Today writes. “The panel is chosen by random draw, conference by conference plus independents, from a pool of coaches who have indicated to the American Football Coaches Association their willingness to participate. Each coach submits a Top 25 with a first-place vote worth 25 points, second place 24, and so on down to one point for 25th.”
