What Was Kalen DeBoer Thinking?

You know the scenario. It’s a tale as old as time, or at least as old as the forward pass. A big time college football matchup is winding down. No matter how big a blowout it may be, or how close the final score is, somebody has got to win and somebody has got to lose. And the camera pans forlornly toward the guy whose team is going to come out on the short side of the scoreboard.
”Jim Tressel’s seventeenth favorite sweater vest!!!“ you exclaim, ”what must that sorry sapsucker be thinking?!?!?”
You may be surprised dear reader, but in the case of Saturday’s Georgia/Alabama game I have a few ideas.
This was Alabama head coach Kalen DeBoer as time slipped away in his team’s 20-17 loss to Kirby Smart’s Georgia Bulldogs:
What was Kalen DeBoer thinking?
A) “If I’d stayed at Washington I could be tailgating on a house boat. Instead I’ve got to keep my head on a swivel to make sure these yahoos don’t try to send me to the bottom of Lake Martin in cement loafers.”
B) “Dijon when I said ‘we gotta hit ‘em in the mouth on defense’ that isn’t what I meant!”
C) “What about the calls?!?!? Nick assured me I’d get all the calls!!!!“
D) “On the bright side, looks like the LSU job may be opening up ahead of schedule.“
As always, we welcome and encourage your own forays into the tormented mind of Kalen DeBoer in the comments. Until later…
Go ‘Dawgs!!!
