The Oklahoma Sooners earned one of the biggest wins of the 2026 College Football Season when they knocked off No. 1 Texas 27-24 in the Cotton Bowl on Saturday. It was an improbable win over their Red River rivals, but the Sooners found a way, scoring touchdowns on all three phases.

Unfortunately, the win didn't move the needle enough for the voters. The Sooners received votes in the latest US LBM Coaches Poll released Sunday.

The Sooners were the fourth-highest vote-getter in the poll behind Northwestern, Arizona, and Nebraska. Though they were left out of the rankings, the mission is simple: Win. If Oklahoma keeps winning, they'll put themselves in position to contend for a berth in the College Football Playoff at year's end.

That's because they'll play four more teams ranked in the top 25 of the Coaches Poll. Up next is a date with No. 17 Kentucky at home. If the Sooners are able to carry the momentum built from the win over Texas into Saturday night at on Owen Field, that could set the stage for an incredible run to close out the season.

At the top of the rankings are the 6-0 Georgia Bulldogs, who garnered 60 of the 74 possible first-place votes. They're followed by Notre Dame at No. 2, Miami at No. 3, Indiana at No. 4, and Ohio State at No. 5. The Texas Longhorns fell five spots to No. 6.

After Week 6, only two teams are in the top 25 with two losses. The LSU Tigers, who lost to Kentucky in Lexington, and the Oregon Ducks, who fell to 5-0 UCLA up in Eugene.

Here's a look at the latest US LBM Coaches Poll after Week 6.
