Georgia football’s Raylen Wilson registered a team-high nine tackles in Saturday’s first Bulldog win at Alabama since 2007, but it was a fan’s postgame interaction with the linebacker that has gone viral.

Wilson, like other Georgia players, approached the stands during their celebration after the 20-17 victory in the top 10 matchup.

The man holding a cup in his left hand leaned over and slapped Wilson’s helmet with his right hand twice before shoving it. Wilson seemed surprised but left the scene.

“Let’s go boy! Let’s go boy! Get the f*** out of here!,” he said according to the footage posted on X by Reggie Chatman of Atlanta’s 11 Alive News.

Wilson, on Instagram, replied to a post of the incident: “I thought dude was a UGA fan tried to dap em up,” with three crying emojis.

Georgia coach Kirby Smart was asked about what happened and Wilson not responding towards the fan.

"I don't know that you can predict to make good decisions and do things the right way," he said. "Raylen certainly did there. There's so much that goes into that and he thought it was a Georgia fan. Probably helped react the way he did initially. You know, disappointing behavior by any fan, and certainly nothing we condone. I'm sure Alabama doesn't condone it either."

The Athens Banner-Herald reached out to Alabama Monday for comment on if it is looking into identifying the fan and planning to take any action from the incident.

It said in a statement: "We are disappointed by the unacceptable behavior exhibited by some of the game’s attendees Saturday night and are in the process of gathering information. Alabama takes matters of fan conduct seriously and expects everyone at our events to demonstrate respect to the student-athletes, coaches, staff, officials and visitors. Such conduct will not be tolerated."

Alabama fans threw bottles and cans at players, according to WSB’s Alison Mastrangelo in a post on X. She wrote coaches told players to put helmets on as they left the field.

Alabama fans were upset with calls during the game including no pass interference in the end zone in the fourth quarter against Georgia safety KJ Bolden when he hit Rico Scott on a pass from Keelon Russell. The Bulldogs sacked Russell on the next play, taking the Crimson Tide out of field goal range.
