Nash Johnson’s recruiting flip on Tuesday was timely for a rivalry week.

The 3-star cornerback from McEachern High in Powdesrville switched his commitment from Auburn to Georgia football days before the teams play Saturday in Athens.

The 6-foot, 170-pound Johnson becomes the 22nd commitment in Georgia’s 2027 class and second cornerback commitment. The other was Alius Mayo of Modesto College who committed to Georgia on Sept. 29 after flipping from Cal.

Johnson is ranked as the nation’s No. 551 overall prospect and No. 54 cornerback by the 247Sports Composite.

Johnson had committed to Alabama in November but decommitted in April and pledged to Auburn on May 31.

The early signing period begins on Dec. 2.

Johnson posted on his X account that this time there's a "1000% recruitment shutdown."
