Auburn football may have been idle last weekend, but the lack of a game did not stop them from rising in the latest 1-138 re-rank by USA TODAY Sports.

The Tigers jumped one spot to No. 38 in the latest College football re-rank by Paul Myerberg of USA TODAY Sports. Auburn is one spot higher than last week when they lost to Tennessee on the road. Oregon is one spot ahead of Auburn this week, and the Virginia Tech Hokies are one spot below the Tigers.

Auburn is No. 12 among SEC schools, with Texas A&M, Vanderbilt, South Carolina, and Arkansas behind them. Auburn's Week 7 opponent, Georgia, is the No. 1 team in this week's rankings after downing Alabama at home over the weekend. Five of Auburn's final seven games are against opponents in the top 25 of Myerberg's rankings, with the only outliers being Arkansas (No. 94) and Samford, which is an FCS team and is not included in the weekly re-rank.

Auburn will hope to perform well enough against No. 1 Georgia this week to boost its stock for next week's re-rank. Kickoff between the Tigers and Bulldogs is set for 2:30 p.m. CT on Saturday.
