No. 3 Miami looks unstoppable heading into its rivalry showdown with Florida State. Can the struggling Seminoles avoid another embarrassing defeat?

One of college football’s fiercest rivalries returns as No. 3 Miami (5-0) hosts Florida State (3-3) at Hard Rock Stadium.

These two programs couldn’t be heading in more different directions.

Miami is coming off a dominant 41-13 victory over Clemson and remains firmly in the national championship conversation. Meanwhile, Florida State suffered an embarrassing 44-20 loss to Louisville after blowing an early 14-0 lead.

With Miami entering as a heavy favorite, Mike Norvell and the Seminoles could be in serious trouble.

Miami: The Hurricanes Look UNSTOPPABLE

Mario Cristobal has built one of the most complete teams in college football, and quarterback Darian Mensah is playing like a legitimate Heisman Trophy contender.

Mensah has thrown for 1,438 yards, 15 touchdowns, and zero interceptions this season.

Miami is averaging an incredible 49.6 points per game while allowing just 9.8.

Freshman sensation Malachi Toney has been nearly impossible to defend, recording 604 receiving yards and six touchdowns. His explosiveness gives Miami a dangerous weapon against a Florida State secondary that has struggled against quality competition.

Running back Mark Fletcher Jr. provides another dimension to the offense, and Miami should have opportunities to establish the run against a vulnerable Seminoles defense.

Florida State: Mike Norvell Is Running Out of Answers

Florida State’s season has quickly become a disappointment.

The Seminoles allowed an unbelievable 397 rushing yards against Louisville, including 235 yards from Isaac Brown.

That’s a massive problem against Miami’s balanced offense.

Quarterback Ashton Daniels has thrown for 1,320 yards, eight touchdowns, and seven interceptions this season.

Although Daniels has been dangerous with his legs, his inconsistency as a passer could become a serious issue against Miami’s defense.

Running back Ousmane Kromah has been productive with 565 rushing yards, but the Seminoles cannot rely entirely on their ground game if Miami builds an early lead.

Florida State has enough athleticism to make some plays, but its defensive struggles and offensive turnovers make this an extremely difficult matchup.

How Each Team Wins

For Miami, the formula is simple: establish the run, protect the football, and allow Mensah to attack Florida State’s secondary.

Defensively, the Hurricanes must contain Daniels’ rushing ability and force him to win from the pocket.

For Florida State, everything starts with controlling possession.

The Seminoles must establish Kromah, limit Miami’s explosive plays, and create turnovers. If Florida State allows this game to become a shootout, it could get ugly quickly.

Prediction

I simply don’t see Florida State having enough answers for Miami’s offense.

Mensah has been outstanding, and I expect him to continue his Heisman-caliber season against a Seminoles defense that just surrendered 44 points to Louisville.

Florida State should create a few explosive plays with Daniels and Kromah, especially early, but Miami’s defense will eventually take control.

I expect the Hurricanes to establish a comfortable halftime lead before completely taking over in the second half.

Final Score: No. 3 Miami 45, Florida State 20

Miami remains undefeated, improves to 6-0, and strengthens its national championship case. Meanwhile, the pressure on Mike Norvell reaches another level following another disappointing rivalry performance.
