The No. 1 Georgia Bulldogs (6-0, 4-0 SEC) play the Auburn Tigers (3-2, 1-2 SEC) at 3:30 p.m. ET on Oct. 17, at Sanford Stadium in Athens, Georgia. The Georgia-Auburn game will be televised on ESPN.
Georgia is favored by almost three touchdowns against Auburn. The Dawgs are coming off a 20-17 road win over Alabama while Auburn had a bye week and spent the time working on themselves and preparing for Georgia.
"I promise you the page for us is focused on this Auburn team because they're well-rested and have a good football team coming in here," Georgia coach Kirby Smart said ahead of the Auburn game.
Smart and Georgia represent a major challenge for Auburn coach Alex Golesh. The Tigers have lost nine straight games in the series against Georgia and have really struggled on the road in the series. Auburn does not have multiple road touchdowns against Georgia since 2009. The Tigers have not won in Athens since 2005.
Georgia won last season's game at Auburn 20-10. Georgia quarterback Gunner Stockton is looking to move to 2-0 in his career as a starter against Auburn.
Will Georgia beat Auburn? ESPN's prediction
Georgia is a 20.5-point home favorite against Auburn. ESPN's matchup predictor, which evaluates how teams have performed, football power index (FPI) and other important factors, gives Georgia a 90.3% chance to defeat Auburn. The Auburn game is considered Georgia's most likely SEC win for the rest of the season. However, Georgia could end up in a close game if the Bulldogs come out flat.
