Below is a list of the nominees in alphabetical order by school.
Logan Frederickson, Bremen
The senior defensive lineman amassed 81 tackles, 11 tackles for loss and six sacks in the Lions’ 11 games, in which they went 6-5.
Brody Reed, Buchanan
The junior was effective on both sides of the ball, leading the team with 427 receiving yards and seven receiving touchdowns while also rushing for 126 yards and three scores. On defense, Reed collected four interceptions and had eight tackles for loss out of his 43 total tackles.
Bo Brunner, Concord
The senior quarterback threw for 2,004 yards and 14 touchdowns through the air, and he picked up 815 yards and 14 touchdowns rushing. He was key in the Minutemen’s trip to Class 5A semi-state.
Char’rese Breveard, Concord
The senior amassed 1,439 yards and 29 touchdowns on the ground while also picking up 484 receiving yards and a score through the air. Breveard also had 86 tackles, one tackle for loss and two interceptions on defense.
Derek Gomez, Concord
The senior did it all on both sides of the ball, leading the Minutemen defense with 114 tackles and 13 tackles for loss, as well as three sacks. On offense, Gomez compiled 1,215 total yards and nine touchdowns as a rusher and receiver.
Kros Jones, Elkhart
The junior linebacker led the Lions with 103 tackles and 23 tackles for loss, and he also put up 2.5 sacks. The Lions finished the season 6-4.
Micah Jarrell, Elkhart
The junior quarterback was a true dual threat, passing for 1,644 yards and 13 touchdowns while running for 842 and 14.
Spencer Elliott, Goshen
Despite the RedHawks finishing the season at 2-8, this sophomore stood out on both sides of the ball. Elliott was second in Goshen’s offense with 1,542 all-purpose yards and he led the RedHawks with seven receiving touchdowns. Elliott also led the RedHawks defense with 82 tackles, picking up an interception, forced fumble and tackle for loss along the way.
Reed Raymond, La Porte
The junior running back picked up 1,387 yards and 12 touchdowns on the ground, and he finished with 1,717 all-purpose yards to lead the Slicers.
Brayden Schwitz, LaVille
The senior quarterback threw for 1,825 yards and 27 touchdowns while leading the Lancers to a sectional title. Schwitz also had 423 rushing yards and six touchdowns on offense, while also compiling 37 tackles, five tackles for loss and a sack on defense.
Cole Stafford, LaVille
The senior was the Lancers’ MVP this season, rushing for 1,145 yards and 13 touchdowns, receiving 513 yards and nine touchdowns, and compiling 68 tackles, 11 tackles for loss, three forced fumbles, two interceptions and a sack.
Noah Menis, LaVille
The junior was all over the place for the Lancers’ defense, compiling 124 tackles, 12 tackles for loss, three forced fumbles, two sacks and an interception.
Ethan Buskirk, Michigan City
The senior linebacker set a program record with 169 tackles in just 12 games, adding on 33 tackles for loss, six sacks, two interceptions and a forced fumble.
Trinaston Hart, Michigan City
The senior quarterback was incredible for the Wolves, passing for 2,525 yards and 21 touchdowns, while also rushing for 893 yards and nine touchdowns.
Zaire McKinney, Michigan City
The senior wide receiver was Hart’s favorite target, reeling in 1,264 yards and 11 touchdowns to make up a large chunk of his 1,676 all-purpose yards.
Kadyn O’Neal, Mishawaka
The junior running back took 221 carries in 11 games for 1,366 yards and 17 touchdowns as the Cavemen went 10-2.
Landon Snyder, Mishawaka
The junior quarterback rushed for 1,409 yards and 21 touchdowns, adding 274 passing yards and four passing touchdowns.
Terrance Lane Jr, Mishawaka Marian
The senior do-it-all player led the Knights with 1,619 all-purpose yards as a rusher, receiver and return man. He found the end zone 10 times as a receiver and rusher. On defense, Lane had 36 tackles and two interceptions.
Reed Robinson, New Prairie
The senior quarterback had 1,458 rushing yards, 22 rushing touchdowns, 708 passing yards and six passing touchdowns.
Alex Anderson, Niles
The senior running back compiled 1,113 yards on the ground and 18 total touchdowns for the Vikings run-heavy offense.
Karsyn Rumfelt, Northridge
The junior quarterback scored 19 total touchdowns — 13 through the air and six on the ground — to accompany his 1,974 total yards — 1,598 passing and 376 rushing — in a 3-8 campaign for the Raiders.
Austin King, NorthWood
The senior rushed for 511 yards and eight touchdowns on offense, and he amassed 80 tackles with four tackles for loss on defense. In a sectional game against Mishawaka, King rushed for 200 yards and two touchdowns while leading the Panthers defense in tackles with 17.
Brayson Hurley, Penn
The junior wide receiver had a team-high 1,048 receiving yards and 10 touchdowns on just 50 catches. Hurley also picked up a rushing score as the Kingsmen finished the season 11-1.
Landon Hall, Penn
The junior quarterback threw for 2,297 yards and 26 touchdowns despite only playing all four quarters in half of the Kingsmen’s 12 games.
Finnigan Holm, Plymouth
The senior running back picked up 1,269 yards and 10 touchdowns on the ground, boosting his all-purpose total to a team-high 1,512 yards.
Lamarr Shaw, South Bend Adams
When the Eagles won games this season, it was because of their defense. Led by this junior defensive lineman, Shaw paced South Bend Adams with 13.5 tackles for loss, five sacks and added 57 tackles to boot.
Nick Washington, South Bend Riley
The senior was a two-way difference maker for the Wildcats, compiling 1,200 all-purpose yards and 11 touchdowns on offense while putting up four tackles for loss, four interceptions and 13 pass deflections on defense.
Charles Grewe, South Bend Saint Joseph
The senior defensive lineman led the Huskies with 16 tackles for loss and nine sacks, adding 37 tackles and two interceptions as well. Grewe also had a receiving touchdown on offense.
James Criniti, South Bend Saint Joseph
The junior's seven interceptions led the South Bend area on defense, and he also had an impressive 93 tackles, three tackles for loss, two sacks and a forced fumble. On offense, Criniti had a second-best 656 all-purpose yards and three touchdowns.
Bryce Verse, South Bend Washington
The senior had a great year on defense, leading the Panthers with 125 tackles and eight tackles for loss. He also had an interception.
Jaydon Lineberry, South Bend Washington
The senior wide receiver was voted as the Northern Indiana Conference Player of the Year, amassing 1,248 receiving yards and 15 touchdowns on 58 receptions. He also had five interceptions and 43 tackles on defense.
Jayden Overmyer, Triton
The senior running back was the heart and soul of the Trojans’ offense, rushing for 1,749 yards and 19 touchdowns, and pulling in 142 receiving yards with a score. On defense, Overmyer had an interception, a sack, nine tackles for loss and 51 tackles.
Vincent Prater, Triton
The senior led the Trojans’ defense with 18.5 tackles for loss and seven sacks, also collecting an interception and making 98 tackles.
