ORLANDO — The early signing period opens Wednesday, Dec. 3, and unless unforeseen additions are coming, it’s not likely to be a particularly banner recruiting year for the UCF Knights.
Both of the industry’s leading recruiting services — 247Sports and Rivals/On3 — list UCF near the bottom of the Big 12’s 16 teams for composite rankings and well behind a handful of Group of Five schools in the overall standings.
UCF finished 5-7 during the 2025 season, the first of Scott Frost‘s second stint as head coach. The Knights fell one win shy of bowl eligibility despite jumping out to a 3-0 start.
As 247Sports national recruiting analyst Brian Dohn told Sons of UCF Live last month, “It’s early, and this class is small. Rankings are based on numbers and volume.” Frost’s staff has just 13 commits on board as things stand, though the Knights remain very much involved with Under Armour All-American wide receiver Tyren Hornes and plenty of work will be done through the transfer portal.
Here’s a breakdown of where the Knights rank, according to both sites.
247Sports
Overall ranking: 88th
Big 12 ranking: 14th
Composite score: 171.03
Average composite: 86.92
Rivals/On3 Sports
Overall ranking: 72nd
Big 12 ranking: 14th
Composite score: 84.891
Average composite: 86.02
