Alabama lands 2026 in-state commitment before Early Signing Period

After recently picking up an offer from the Crimson Tide, 2026 in-state prospect Malique Franklin has now officially announced a commitment to Alabama.

Franklin's commitment comes just a day before the Early Signing Period officially begins, and the in-state standout becomes commit No. 24 in Alabama's 2026 class.

According to the 247Sports Composite rankings, Franklin is considered as the nation's No. 461 overall player at the moment, as well as the No. 44 edge rusher nationally. A three-star recruit, Franklin also ranks as the No. 17 player in the state of Alabama where he attends Daphne High School.

Franklin's recruitment is also one that has blown up over recent months, in part due to a phenomenal 2025 season where he had 98 tackles, 23 TFL, and 11 sacks playing in Alabama's top high school classification.

Alabama's 2026 class currently enters the Early Signing Period ranking No. 2 nationally with 24 total commits, per the 247Sports Team Rankings.
