Interior offensive line commit Jalan Chapman has decommitted from LSU football, he announced on his “X” account Tuesday. Chapman, a New Orleans native, has been committed to LSU since July 2024.
After prayer and careful consideration with my family, I have decided to fully reopen my recruitment and continue this process with clarity and purpose.
— Jalan Chapman (@jalan4x_) December 2, 2025
Chapman is ranked 77th among IOL prospects in the 2026 class, according to 247Sports. Chapman's decommitment comes as Kiffin's staff is shaking up LSU's class just ahead of signing day.
With uncertainty surrounding LSU's coaching staff, its not a surprise to see players backing off pledges. In some cases, recruits will delay signing until they see how the dust settles at LSU. Others will sign with a different school this week, leaving no chance of recommitting to Kiffin and the Tigers.
Chapman was the only interior offensive lineman in LSU's 2026 class, but it didn't take the Tigers long to find another. Kiffin and staff flipped three-star Ryan Miret from Ole Miss.
As of Tuesday night, LSU's signing class ranks No. 12 nationally, per 247Sports class rankings.
