Heritage Hills QB Jett Goldsberry flips commitment to Purdue football

One of the top high school football players in Indiana has flipped his commitment.

Heritage Hills quarterback/safety Jett Goldsberry announced Wednesday, Dec. 3, on his social media account that he has changed his college football commitment to Purdue University. He had previously given a verbal commitment to Ole Miss in July, but head coach Lane Kiffin recently accepted the same position at Louisiana State University (LSU).

Goldsberry posted the following message.

“I want to start by thanking Coach Wes Neighbors and the entire Ole Miss staff for believing in me and taking the time to recruit me. I’ve got nothing but respect for the program and the people there, and I’m grateful for the opportunity they gave me. After a lot of thought and talks with my family, I’ve decided to decommit from Ole Miss and flip my commitment to Purdue. I’m excited about the direction of the new coaching staff and the vision they have for me, and I can’t wait to be a part of what they’re building. Thank you again to Coach Neighbors and Ole Miss for everything. Ready for this next chapter. Boiler Up.”

Heritage Hills' Jett Goldsberry (3) carries the ball as the Heritage Hills Patriots play the Martinsville Artesians in the 2025 IHSAA Class 4A Regional football game in Lincoln City, Ind., Friday, Nov. 14, 2025.

Goldsberry is a 3-star recruit per all three major recruiting services and ranked eighth in the Class of 2026 in Indiana by ESPN and On3. He set multiple school records at Heritage Hills, finishing with 10,539 all-purpose yards and 154 total touchdowns. Goldsberry projects as an athlete in college and was set to play defensive back at Ole Miss.

He emerged as an Indiana Mr. Football candidate following a state championship season as a junior. Goldsberry guided the Patriots to the Class 4A semi-state this fall as one of the top two-way players in Indiana. The senior completed 56% of his passes for 2,017 passing yards and 25 touchdowns, ran for 1,355 yards (8.4 per carry) and 31 scores plus finished sixth on the team with 40 total tackles.

He was selected as the MVP for the Pocket Athletic Conference Large School Division.

Goldsberry previously chose the Rebels among six finalists that included Purdue, Rutgers, West Virginia, Wake Forest and North Carolina. There were coaches from Purdue present on the Heritage Hills sideline during the semi-state at Roncalli on Friday, Nov. 21. The Boilermakers went 2-10 in the first year under head coach Barry Odom.

Goldsberry is scheduled to have his signing ceremony, alongside Oklahoma commit Tyler Ruxer, on Friday, Dec. 5. His father, Jon Goldsberry, played linebacker for the Boilermakers from 2000-04.
