Fast, physical defensive back Niko Jandreau signs with Oklahoma

The Oklahoma Sooners had a type in the 2026 recruiting class, and no two players fit that mold more than twin brothers Beau and Niko Jandreau. The Jandreaus play a fast and physical style, looking to punish the opposition with every hit.

Niko Jandreau signed with the Oklahoma Sooners during the early signing period. This is the third set of brothers to land with the Sooners under Brent Venables, joining Peyton and Eli Bowen and Michael and Maliek Hawkins.

Though he was only considered a three-star prospect coming out, Niko chose the Sooners over a nice list of offers from Arizona State, Boise State, Georgia Tech, Iowa State, USC, and Washington.

Here's what I wrote about Jandreau at the time of his commitment.

He attacks ball carriers and arrives with force. He has great knockback and doesn't allow the ball carrier to get away from him. Jandreau does a great job reacting to what he sees and playing fast to the football. He's adept at playing along the line of scrimmage but is really good in coverage as well. He has the quickness and agility to mirror receivers out of the slot and can play single-high safety. Jandreau's a versatile piece for Brent Venables' defense that could be deployed at safety or cheetah.

Because of his speed and physicality, Niko Jandreau will be an interesting chess piece for Brent Venables, safeties coach Brandon Hall, and defensive analyst Wes Goodwin to work with.
