The nation’s No. 1 recruit is headed to the SEC. But not Georgia as was expected. Nashville quarterback Jared Curtis changed his mind and announced Dec. 2 he was switching his commitment from UGA to Vanderbilt.

Curtis is the headliner of the next wave of talent infusion into the SEC to start the early signing period.

While no SEC teams are in the top-three nationally in the 2026 team rankings through Day 1 of the early signing period, eight of the top-16 classes, including five of the top 10, are SEC schools, per 247Sports Composite rankings.
