Indiana’s rally towels have been one of the more visible developments to have come about during the football program’s unprecedented run of success in the 2024 and 2025 seasons under head coach Curt Cignetti.
The program has provided towels on seats around Memorial Stadium ahead of games with each towel displaying a message on the game or a reference to the program. Cignetti’s “study later” quote was emblazoned during one such towel distribution last season.
Fans are prone to waving the towels in the air during games, especially to create noise and energy when the Hoosiers are on defense. Multiple fans brought towels with them for Indiana’s College Football Playoff game against Notre Dame up in South Bend last season.
With No. 2 Indiana set to face No. 1 Ohio State in the Big Ten Football Championship Game on Saturday, Indiana has worked to set up a distribution system so fans can pick up rally towels ahead of the matchup. Fans will be able to pick up towels at Victory Field in downtown Indianapolis just a short walk away from Lucas Oil Stadium. but must show a ticket to receive a towel.
Towel distribution will begin at 6 p.m. ET, according to the IU Alumni Association. The Big Ten title game will kick off at 8 p.m.
