Auburn football's 2026 recruiting class is now 17 members strong with the signing of an in-state safety.
Damonte Tabb, a safety from Thompson High School in Alabaster, Alabama, announced Friday that he is signing with Auburn. He joins a list of several Auburn signees, including quarterback Rhys Brush and tight end DJ Broughton, to sign with Auburn after receiving interest from new head coach Alex Golesh during his time at USF.
Tabb finished sixth in tackles this season at Thompson with 78, four going for loss. In Thompson's 48-10 win over Opelika at the AHSAA Class 7A state championship game this week, Tabb recorded one tackle with one interception. His interception in the state championship game was his 11th of the season.
Tabb is the 17th player to sign with Auburn for the 2026 class. The Tigers rank No. 37 in the 247Sports 2026 recruiting rankings following the signing of Tabb, with a trio of four-star signees, Jaquez Wilkes, Shadarius Toodle, and Corey Wells, headlining the class.
You’ll want to keep a Tabb on this one 🔒🦅
