After a red-hot start, the Miami Hurricanes hit a bump in the middle of the season with two losses to inferior opponents.

The losses were to Louisville at home and at SMU in OT and ultimately cost them a trip to the ACC championship game. Since then, the Hurricanes ended the season with four straight wins.

The significant controversy heading into Sunday will be where Miami is placed relative to Notre Dame. The Hurricanes took down the Irish back in August, and while the two programs have nearly identical resumes, Notre Dame is ranked ahead of Miami.
