2027 four-star defensive lineman names Tennessee football in top 12 schools

Tennessee is recruiting toward its 2027 football signing class.
Four-star defensive lineman Ben’Jarvius Shumaker named Tennessee in his top 12 schools, along with Missouri, Texas, Purdue, Notre Dame, Oklahoma, Texas A&M, Ole Miss, Mississippi State, Louisville and Miami.
The 6-foot-3, 270-pound prospect is from Choctaw County High School in Ackerman, Mississippi. 247Sports ranks him as the No. 4 defensive lineman in the class and No. 2 player in Mississippi.
Tennessee offered Shumaker a scholarship on March 3 and has not visited the Vols.
Ole Miss was the first school to offer Shumaker a scholarship on May 11, 2024. Other schools to offer him scholarships include Florida State, Auburn, Jackson State, LSU, Alabama, Arkansas State, Arkansas and Southern Miss.
Tennessee has three commitments in its 2027 football recruiting class: linebacker JP Peace, cornerback Kamauri Whitfield and offensive tackle Princeton Uwaifo.
The Vols have 24 commitments in their 2026 football recruiting class: quarterback Faizon Brandon, wide receiver Tyreek King, offensive tackle Gabriel Osenda, defensive lineman CJ Edwards, defensive lineman Zach Groves, safety KJ McClain, safety Luke Thompson, defensive end Kedric Golston II, offensive lineman Edward Baker, wide receiver Zaydyn Anderson, quarterback Legend Bey, defensive lineman Dereon Albert, linebacker TJ White, cornerback Jamyan Theodore, defensive lineman Darryl Rivers, wide receiver Javonte Smith, linebacker Brayden Rouse, safety Jowell Combay, athlete Joel Wyatt, athlete Salesi Moa, offensive tackle Kamari Blair, wide receiver Tristen Keys, defensive end Hezekiah Harris and tight end Luca Wolf.
