Not many national or local experts gave the Indiana Hoosiers a shot at knocking off the No. 1-ranked Ohio State Buckeyes in the Big Ten Championship Game Saturday, but they played hard, tough, physical, and clutch in the big moments to win a gritty 13-10 contest in Indianapolis Saturday night.
Perhaps the only person who had the confidence necessary to win inside Lucas Oil Stadium was Indiana head coach Curt Cignetti, and in the end, his confidence and coaching style brought the Hoosiers from one of the worst programs in the country all the way to Big Ten champions in two short years.
Cignetti met with the media in Indianapolis after the game and was clearly pleased with his team afterwards. He talked bout how his team had success against Ohio State, what's ahead for the team, how the turnaround has occurred so quickly, and more.
Ohio State and Indiana will now both go into the College Football Playoff with likely a first-round bye. The Hoosiers will be the No. 1 seed, and we'll have to wait to see what the CFP Committee does with the Buckeyes.
