Head coach Deion Sanders and the Colorado Buffaloes added a pair of four-star brothers on Saturday.

The Colorado Buffaloes and Coach Prime picked up a commitment from four-star wide receiver Xavier McDonald. Dolph McDonald, per Rivals’ Hayes Fawcett, has also committed to Colorado for the 2027 class.

Xavier was committed to Sacramento State since July, but decommitted after the Hornets’ former head coach, Brennan Marion, took the job as Colorado’s offensive coordinator.

The 6-foot-3 wideout is the No. 313-ranked recruit in the nation, according to 247Sports. The Mississippi native is also the No. 47 wide receiver nationally and the No. 14-ranked recruit in Mississippi. The Morton High School product can sign with Colorado in February after the early signing period closed on Friday.

His brother, Dolph, is the No. 318 player and the No. 36 cornerback nationally, as well as the No. 10-ranked player in Mississippi. The 6-foot-1 corner holds offers from Power Four programs, including Ole Miss, Auburn and Michigan.

In his senior season, Xavier hauled in 28 receptions and 450 receiving yards at Morton High School. Overall, the speedy wideout had 3,787 total receiving yards on 200 catches alongside 41 touchdowns in his high school career.

Dolph is the first member of Coach Prime’s 2027 class and had an outstanding junior season on both sides of the ball. Defensively, he tallied 31 tackles, four breakups and five interceptions, with three being returned for a touchdown. He was a playmaker offensively, with 31 carries for 168 yards, throwing for 509 yards on 42 completions and 34 receptions for 609 yards.

Xavier is the 13th recruit of the Buffaloes’ 2026 class, a class that ranks 95th nationally. Despite the four-star addition, Coach Prime’s 2026 recruiting class still ranks 13th in the Big 12.
