Helaman Casuga has emerged as one of the most prolific quarterbacks in Utah high school football, combining elite production with national-level recruiting attention.

His 2025 season at Corner Canyon (Draper, Utah) solidified his reputation as a future college star.

Casuga is a finalist for the 2025 ALL-USA West Football Team, which also makes him a finalist for the national ALL-USA Football Team. Both of those teams will be announced later this month.

Rising Star at Corner Canyon

At 6-foot-1, 220-pounds Casuga has been a model of consistency and excellence since his freshman year. Known for his calm demeanor and efficient mechanics, Casuga has led one of the state’s premier programs with poise beyond his years.

At the start of his senior season this year, he was already considered one of the top quarterbacks in the 2026 class, drawing comparisons to past Corner Canyon greats like Jaxson Dart and Devin Brown.

2025 Season Performance

This year, Casuga was nothing short of spectacular. He completed 210 of 308 passes (68.2 percent) for 3,487 yards, averaging 268.2 yards per game, with 37 touchdowns against just nine interceptions. His efficiency was highlighted in games such as his near-perfect outing against Syracuse, where he went 22-of-23 for 298 yards and four touchdowns.

He also showed resilience, bouncing back from tougher contests like his four-interception game against Lone Peak with dominant performances in subsequent weeks.

Beyond passing, Casuga contributed on the ground, rushing for 230 yards on 48 carries (4.8 yards per attempt) with two touchdowns. His dual-threat ability added another dimension to Corner Canyon’s offense, keeping defenses off balance.

Career Statistics

Casuga’s career numbers are staggering. In three varsity seasons, he amassed 11,561 passing yards on 773 completions out of 1,158 attempts (66.8 percent), with 113 touchdowns and 32 interceptions. Averaging over 218 yards per game, he has consistently ranked among the most productive quarterbacks in Utah high school football history.

His ability to sustain high-level play across multiple seasons underscores his maturity and football IQ.

Recruiting Journey

Casuga’s recruiting profile reflects his national stature. Rated as a four-star prospect with a 247 Sports Composite score of 0.9096, he ranks among the top quarterbacks in the 2026 class. He received offers from programs including BYU, Utah, Oregon, USC, and Auburn but ultimately committed to Texas A&M. The Aggies, under head coach Mike Elko and offensive coordinator Collin Klein, view Casuga as a cornerstone of their offensive future.

Analysts have praised his compact release, quick processing ability and calm presence under pressure.

Casuga has also earned recognition beyond recruiting rankings. He was a finalist for the Polynesian High School Football Player of the Year Award this year, a testament to both his heritage and his impact on the field.

His participation in the Elite 11 Finals further validated his standing among the nation’s best young quarterbacks.

Leadership and Intangibles

What sets Casuga apart is not just his statistical dominance but his leadership. Coaches and scouts consistently highlight his composure, confidence and ability to elevate teammates.

He rarely appears rattled, even in high-pressure situations, and his decision-making reflects a quarterback who understands the nuances of the game.
