Alabama basketball went 2-0 in Week 6 and unscathed in the latest Coaches Poll.
The Crimson Tide stuck around at No. 12 after a 90-84 SEC win over Clemson − which received seven votes to enter the top 25 − in the SEC/ACC Challenge and another victory over the weekend against unranked UTSA, which fell 97-55 to UA.
While coach Nate Oats was hopeful that Alabama‘s next opponent, Arizona, would be the No. 1 team in the country when the two meet in the C.M. Newton Classic on Saturday, Dec. 13, the Wildcats came in at No. 2 behind top-ranked Michigan. However, Arizona is ranked No. 1 in the newest AP Poll, which kept Alabama at No. 12.
There are six total SEC teams ranked in the Coaches Poll. Behind the Crimson Tide are No. 14 Vanderbilt, No. 17 Arkansas, No. 18 Florida, No. 20 Tennessee and No. 24 Florida.
