The first installment of the 2025 College Football Playoff rankings was revealed on Tuesday night, and we know you are interested in where Ohio State landed. As a reminder, the Buckeyes have been the No. 1-ranked team in the major polls since the win over Texas in Week 1, and have really not done too much to relinquish that.

However, where teams rank in the traditional polls is supposed to have nothing to do with where teams are stacked up in the College Football Playoff rankings. So, what did the CFP committee do with the Buckeyes, one of three teams that could have an argument to be No. 1 in these rankings?

The committee fell in line with the traditional polls and slotted Ohio State as the No. 1-ranked team. Behind the Buckeyes in the CFP rankings were Indiana (2), Texas A&M (3), Alabama (4), Georgia (5), Ole Miss (6), BYU (7), Texas Tech (8), Oregon (9), and Notre Dame (10), rounding out the top ten. The two spots that are right on the cut line as No. 11 and 12 are Texas (11) and Oklahoma (12).

Here’s how the entire CFP top 25 rankings checked in during the first exercise.

These rankings will of course change each week, and will even most likely look a lot different in Week 2. We’ll bring these two you each week, so make sure to come back and check in. The next CFB rankings will be released next Tuesday.
