8 players, 1 coach from Topeka-area named to all-state HS football teams

TOPEKA — The Kansas Football Coaches Association released its 2025 high school football all-state teams this week. Eight Shawnee County players and one assistant coach were honored for their efforts this season. Only seniors are able to become all-state from the KFCA. 

Here are the Shawnee County members that were selected to an all-state team.

Xander Blasing, Hayden

Blasing was named to the Class 3A all-state team at the linebacker position. Blasing finished the year with 95 tackles and 1.5 sacks. Blasing also secured three interceptions with two of them going for a touchdown.

Conner Bush, Rossville

Bush was picked Class 1A all-state as a defensive back. Bush earned 114 tackles, which was the second-most on the roster. Bush earned two interceptions, too.

Jack Donovan, Rossville 

It was a great season for the wide receiver, who was honored with a Class 1A all-state pick. Donovan caught a team-high 43 receptions for 490 yards and three touchdowns. Donovan also had four rushing touchdowns.

Brody Haas, Washburn Rural

The linebacker was selected to the Class 6A all-state team after an incredible season. Haas finished with 103 total tackles with 72 solo tackles. Haas finished with 14 tackles for a loss along with three interceptions. He also forced two fumbles and recovered one, too.

Andre Johnson, Rossville 

Johnson was selected to the Class 1A all-state team as a linebacker. Johnson was the engine for the Bulldawgs’ defense. He led the team with 133 tackles which includes 74 solo tackles. Johnson also earned a sack, interception and fumble recovery.

Canann Mitchell, Rossville 

It was a fantastic season for Mitchell as he helped guide the Bulldawgs to the Class 1A State Championship. Mitchell was named the Class 1A all-state quarterback this year. He threw for 1,771 yards, 19 touchdowns and one interception. He also led the team with 1,162 rushing yards and 21 touchdowns.

Kade Mitchell, Hayden

Mitchell was named an All-State player in Class 3A at the defensive back position. Mitchell finished his season with 23 tackles and four pass deflections. Mitchell also had three tackles for a loss along with two fumble recoveries and one interception.

Dan Schneider, Rossville

The offensive line coach for the Bulldawgs was named the Class 1A all-state assistant coach of the year. Schneider has been a longtime assistant to head coach Derick Hammes. Schneider’s ability to develop offensive linemen was crucial in Rossville’s run to the state championship game.

Rock Williamson, Topeka High 

Williamson was picked to the Class 6A all-state team as a linebacker. Williamson was feared by every Centennial League opponent this year. Williamson was great in open field tackles while also pressuring the quarterback at a high rate on a consistent basis.
