This week, the floodgates are officially open, and we are starting to see Michigan State football players enter the transfer portal now that the season is over and Pat Fitzgerald is closer to announcing his staff. With some rumors swirling around a new offensive line coach and presumptively a new offensive coordinator, current walk-on offensive lineman Rashawn Rogers entered the portal on Tuesday.
Rogers was a preferred walk-on from Ottawa Hills in the Grand Rapids area who joined the Spartans this year and took a redshirt after not appearing in a game. The preferred walk-ons will be a large part of the exodus when a new staff takes over, since the new staff will likely want to prioritize every potential scholarship spot for transfers or new incoming recruits, so this wasn't a major surprise.
