Texas A&M was in a difficult position this offseason after losing the majority of its wide receiver production, forcing the program to bring in veteran talent to fill the gap while its young group continued to develop. Enter KC Concepcion, who not only emerged as the top target but also became one of the most electrifying players in the nation.
The goal was to get the ball into his hands by any means necessary, and with that emphasis, he managed to impact games in several different ways. This was recognized by the Louisville Sports Commission when they named the junior the winner of the 2025 Paul Hornung Award, given to the most versatile player in major college football.
Concepcion burst onto the scene by returning a punt for a touchdown in his first game as an Aggie. That performance blossomed into First Team All-SEC honors as both a wide receiver and return specialist. He ranked in the top 15 nationally in all-purpose yards (1,409) and led the SEC in total touchdowns (12).
Texas A&M discovered a gem in the transfer portal, and alongside Mario Craver, Concepcion formed one of the best duos in the SEC, while also allowing Aston Bethal-Roman to grow steadily throughout the season. Although this will be his only season in Aggieland, it was a special one that will not be forgotten anytime soon.

The Paul Hornung Award presented by Texas Roadhouse, now in its 16th season, is owned and operated by the Louisville Sports Commission (LSC). The Award pays tribute to the late football legend and Louisville native Paul Hornung. Concepcion and his family will be honored at the annual Paul Hornung Award dinner in downtown Louisville in March 2026.
Texas A&M will return to Kyle Field on December 20 to face Miami in the opening round of the College Football Playoff. Kickoff against the Hurricanes is scheduled for 11 a.m. CT and will be broadcast live on ABC/ESPN.
