Arizona State football head coach Kenny Dillingham revealed how he approached programs trying to hire him away from ASU this season on the Travis Take Two podcast.

When asked if he had received any calls recently on coaching opportunities for Dillingham away from ASU, Dillingham said that his agent did.

"I made it very clear where I wanted to be to all those people," Dillingham continued. "The one thing I can say with a straight face and I can feel great about: During our football season, I talked to zero people about any other job."

The Travis Take Two podcast is hosted by former NFL quarterback Jordan Travis and former MLB second baseman Devon Travis. The two are brothers, and both were athletes at Florida State. During two of the seasons Jordan Travis played quarterback at Florida State, Dillingham was both the offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach for the Seminoles.

Dillingham followed up about why he talked to zero people about any other job on the show.

"I know that's not industry standard," Dillingham acknowledged. "I have a lot of respect for our football team. These guys chose to be here. They didn't just go take the most money and leave. After last year's season, they wanted to be here. It's my responsibility to do the same thing to them. That's just what I believe in."

After last season, the Sun Devils were Big 12 champions and had just played in the Peach Bowl, which was the quarterfinal round of the College Football Playoff. After taking the No. 3 Texas Longhorns to double overtime in that game, they finished seventh in the final AP poll. Dillingham noticed that the core of that team did not transfer, and he is returning the favor.

Entering the Dec. 31 Sun Bowl, ASU is 8-4 in 2025, with a running game that ranks 25th nationally in rush yards per carry.
