Another high school football season has come and gone in the Greater Taunton area.
This fall, Bridgewater-Raynham (8-4, 1-1 Pioneer Athletic Conference) led the way locally, lighting up the scoreboard with five games scoring 40 or more and reaching the MIAA Division 2 Final 4 before narrowly falling to Bishop Feehan. Bristol-Plymouth (6-5, 2-3 Mayflower Large) made some strides led by a strong senior class while Taunton (4-7, 0-4 Hockomock Kelley-Rex) had some strong showings and reached the Division 1 Round of 16 once again and Dighton-Rehoboth (4-7, 2-2 South Coast Blue) scored a couple of solid wins while battling injury woes.
Now, with the season of the rearview, cast your vote for the 2025 Taunton Daily Gazette Fans’ Choice Football Player of the Year, with polls open through noon on Thursday, Dec. 18. This poll also will play into deciding the 2025 Taunton Daily Gazette Football Player of the Year, with the fan vote accounting for 25% of the Gazette’s final vote. Voting can only be done through the poll below, and any votes submitted by email or other means will not be counted.
Here are the nominees:
Dylan Keenan, Taunton
The senior quarterback had 111 passes for 1884 yds and 12 touchdowns while also rushing for 432 yards and 8 touchdowns.
Corbin Melo, Taunton
The senior linebacker/running back recorded 95 tackles, 10 tackles for a loss, 5 sacks and an interception while also averaging 7.3 yards per carry and hauling in 10 catches and a receiving touchdown. He finishes his career as the Tigers’ all-time tackle leader (263).
Jack Lambert, Bridgewater-Raynham
The senior quarterback threw for 2,776 passing yards and 31 touchdowns.
Dylan Reed, Bridgewater-Raynham
The senior wide receiver had 57 receptions for 814 yards and 9 touchdowns.
Nate Hicks, Bristol-Plymouth
The senior running back/quarterback/linebacker had 1,356 rushing yards for 22 touchdowns and 6 2-point conversions while also returning an interception for a touchdown. He also led the Craftsmen in tackles and tackles for a loss.
Thaniel LaBrie, Bristol-Plymouth
The senior running back/defensive back had 611 rushing yards for 6 touchdowns while also hauling in a pair of receiving touchdowns, returning a pair of kickoffs for touchdowns and had a joint-best 3 interceptions.
Cooper Benfeito, Dighton-Rehoboth
The junior running back/linebacker had 138 carries for 745 yards and 7 touchdowns as well as 30 tackles, 6 tackles for a loss and a forced fumble.
Titan Grassie, Dighton-Rehoboth
The senior lineman had 45 tackles, 5 sacks, and an interception for a touchdown.
