LSU football loses defensive staffer to Oregon State

A former LSU football defensive staffer is reportedly on the move for a promotion. According to a report from CBS Sports, Lance Guidry will be the defensive coordinator at Oregon State.

Guidry served in the same role at Miami for two years before departing for Baton Rouge in February. He coached the STAR position under defensive coordinator Blake Baker, along with safeties. Harold Perkins, Dashawn Spears and Jardin Gilbert worked closely with him.

A native of Welsh, LA, Guidry played college football at McNeese and finished with two all-conference recognitions as a strong safety. He was the head coach at his alma mater for three years and coached there for six years overall. His teams set multiple Southland Conference records and won the conference title in 2015 with an undefeated record.

Prior to his time at Miami, Guidry coached defenses at Marshall, Florida Atlantic, Southeastern Louisiana, Western Kentucky and Miami (Ohio). He also has experience a the high school level.
