Newark’s Smith, Davis earn All-Ohio Division I football honors

COLUMBUS — A pair of Newark football players have been recognized for their impressive accomplishments this fall.

Bodie Smith and Cam Davis were selected Dec. 11 to the All-Ohio Division I list by the Ohio Preps Sportsmedia Association.

Smith, a senior quarterback, was named to the second team. Smith, who broke several program game, season and career records, racked up 2,196 passing yards and 27 TDs.

Newark’s Bodie Smith was named to the All-Ohio Division I second team on Dec. 11.

Davis, a senior lineman, blocked for an offense that averaged 330 yards per game and scored 31 points or more five times, including 49 or more three times. The Wildcats qualified for the playoffs for the third consecutive season and earned the program’s second consecutive winning season at 6-5.
