Nebraska suffered a major loss in its 21-17 defeat to USC this past weekend, losing quarterback Dylan Raiola for the season. USA TODAY Sports’ Erick Smith, however, is keeping the Huskers locked in to face Washington at the Las Vegas Bowl in his latest bowl projections.
This is the second week in a row Smith has pitted Nebraska against the Huskies. Even though Washington is a member of the Big Ten, they are technically a Pac-12 team for the 2025-26 postseason.
This is also the third straight week Washington stands in the Las Vegas Bowl, and the fifth time this season, with Smith projecting the team to initially take on Iowa before switching to Nebraska. Along with Iowa in Las Vegas, Smith also set the Huskies up against Utah, Iowa State, and Texas Tech in the Alamo Bowl, along with SMU and Florida State in the Sun Bowl.
The Huskers, meanwhile, remain in Vegas after being set to face Tennessee in the Music City Bowl a few weeks ago. Nebraska was set for Vegas once before, earlier this season. The Huskers, however, spent most of the season destined for the ReliaQuest Bowl.
Nebraska now enters the final stretch of the regular season without starting quarterback Dylan Raiola, which leaves a lot up in the air for the 6-3 Huskers. Washington is 6-2 and will take on Wisconsin, Purdue, UCLA and Oregon to close out the season.
