Frankfort's Tyler captains AA All-State team; 9 locals named to 1st, 2nd squads

Frankfort star Braydn Tyler captained the Class AA All-State squad, headlining a list of nine locals named to the first or second teams of the WVSWA All-State football team.
Frankfort, which captured a second straight Class AA state championship with a 49-42 win over Bluefield, placed five on the Class AA squad and had two more honorable mentions.
The first-team selections were Tyler, a junior, at running back and first-team offensive captain, junior Anthony Smith at offensive line and senior Carder Shanholtz at linebacker.
Junior linebacker Gunnar Bradshaw and senior defensive back Blake Jacobs received second-team selections.
Kicker Rhett Sensabaugh and tight end Blake Carlile were named honorable mentions.
Petersburg's senior linebacker Lukas Wolford landed on the first team at linebacker.
Senior Kaleb Kuhn earned second-team honors at defensive back while Alex Halterman and Payton Metheny were honorable mentions.
Brock Linville and Oliver Crites were also honorable mentions from Moorefield.
Keyser and Hampshire placed one each in the linebacker corps of the Class AAA All-State second team in the Tornado's Owen Rotruck and the Trojans' Brent Evans.
Keyser's Grayson Lambka, Tommy Nash and Dom Crawford, and Hampshire Landon Eversole and Roscoe Dean were also listed as honorable mentions.
In Class A, East Hardy senior defensive back Levi Price led a list of five Cougars who were honored.
Senior Korbin Miller received a second-team spot at offensive line, and Garrett VanMeter, Trevor Roof and Bradley Kidwell were honorable mentions.
