COLUMBUS — Scioto County was again well-represented on the Division V All-Ohio list earlier this week, as a total of 21 individuals were named as All-Ohio honorees by the Ohio Prep Sports Media Association (OPSMA) this past week with Wheelersburg head coach Rob Woodward obtaining Division V All-Ohio Co-Coach of the Year honors.

Woodward, the winningest coach in the history of the Wheelersburg high school football program with 183 victories, tallied up his eighth 10-win season in 2025 and his ninth season where the Wheelersburg offense averaged at least 34.8 points per game or more in the process.

Additionally, the Wheelersburg defense allowed just 9.2 points per game in 2025, which marks the fourth season that Wheelersburg has accomplished that feat under Woodward.

Four of Wheelersburg's nine players who ultimately earned All-Ohio honors were named as first teamers, including Braylon Rucker, Ryan Meeker, Cooper Heimbach and Ison Emnett.

Rucker, a first teamer at the quarterback position, threw for 1,659 yards and ran for 703 more with 24 total touchdowns to just two turnovers in 2025. Meeker, a first teamer on the offensive line, paved the way for 4,484 yards of total offense and six yards per carry in all.

Heimbach, a first team kicker, was a lethal weapon all season, drilling 19 out of his 22 field goal attempts and setting a mark for the longest field goal kick ever made in a Wheelersburg uniform with a 53-yarder. Heimbach made three field goal attempts of 50 yards or greater and nine where the senior connected from 40 yards or more away as the Ohio University commit was money all season from anywhere on the field.

A first-teamer on the defensive line, Emnett was considered to be one of Wheelersburg's heart-and-soul players. He finished the season having nabbed 59 tackles, four sacks, two pass breakups, two forced fumbles and two fumble recoveries as a defensive lineman.

Behind the main quartet, Brady Doss was named as a Second-Team All-Ohio honoree after a season where Doss finished with 429 yards receiving and three touchdowns offensively and entered the Division V State Championship Game with 81 tackles, 2.5 sacks and two interceptions defensively.

Elijah Brown, Kenyon Evans, Luke Kouns and Hunter Henderson were all named Honorable Mention All-Ohio.

Brown ran for 1,075 yards and 20 touchdowns offensively and made 57.5 tackles, 2.5 sacks, forced two interceptions and had a pass breakup defensively. Evans led the team with 14 pass breakups and five interceptions while adding in 36 tackles defensively and also posted 461 yards receiving and three touchdowns on 35 catches in 2025. Kouns was a two-way starter as an offensive lineman and a linebacker on defense who made a team-leading 93.5 stops with two sacks, an interception, three forced fumbles and a fumble recovery. Henderson finished out his senior season with 82 tackles, 9.5 sacks, eight pass breakups, an interception and a fumble recovery.

It's the 23rd consecutive winning season for the Wheelersburg football program, who has won no less than six games in each of the past 23 seasons and less than seven games only once during that time.

Since Woodward's first season as head coach in 2008, Wheelersburg's won less than eight games only twice — the 2011 season and the COVID-shortened 2020 season where Wheelersburg went 7-2 in just nine games.

Following Wheelersburg's efforts, Portsmouth's and Valley's dashes to playoff berths led to the Trojans and Indians each placing four players on the All-Ohio list.

Dependable kicker/punter Jacob Roth and the equally reliable linebacker play of Trevin Brooks resulted in each player being named as a Third-Team All-Ohio honoree from a defensive standpoint, while offensive lineman Wesley Runyon and running back Fernando Poxes earned Honorable Mention All-Ohio accolades at their respective positions.

The quartet helped lead the Trojans to their ninth season with a .500 or better overall record in the last 10, and seven winning seasons over that same span. Bruce Kalb's program has now accumulated six winning seasons in his eight years as head coach.

Valley, under fourth-year head coach Nolan Crabtree, enjoyed a breakthrough year where the Indians posted an 8-3 overall record, its best since 2015. Dependable placekicker Jaylen Bender headed the charge, nabbing Second-Team All-Ohio honors while offensive lineman Nolan Barnett was Third-Team All-Ohio. Running back Anthony Aaron and linebacker Blake Lundy were each Honorable Mention All-Ohio talents.

Northwest, under seventh-year head coach Bill Crabtree, continues to progress as a program, as the Mohawks went 7-3 in 2025. The performance marked Northwest's second consecutive winning record and its fifth in the last seven seasons under Crabtree.

Behind a punishing offensive line and a talented core of skill players, three individuals were ultimately named Honorable Mention All-Ohio.

Northwest quarterback Jake Brown, who enjoyed a career year by posting dynamic numbers — completing 107 of his 164 passes for 1,344 yards, 20 touchdowns and an interception while rushing for 1,014 yards, on 167 carries and 11 more scores on the ground — was named as an Honorable Mention All-Ohio talent at the quarterback position. Brown also posted 99 tackles defensively, five for a loss, all while tallying 2,358 yards of total offense and 31 touchdowns.

Senior lineman Jaxon Powell and junior lineman Aidden Armbrister — who paved the way for 3,357 yards of total offense and 29 touchdowns — were named as Honorable Mention All-Ohio talents on the offensive line and the defensive line, respectively. Powell and Armbrister combined for 45 tackles and 15 tackles for loss while playing as down linemen.

Curtis Glenn, who was a dynamic playmaker for Minford throughout the year, joined Brown as an Honorable Mention All-Ohio talent. Glenn threw for 1,527 yards and 12 touchdowns through the air while rushing for 776 yards and another six scores on the ground — nabbing 2,303 yards and 18 touchdowns total offensively. Glenn also posted 64 stops defensively with 10 tackles for loss in 2025.
