Mississippi State football's 2026 schedule complete with full list of opponents, Egg Bowl date

STARKVILLE — Mississippi State football’s first SEC game in 2026 will be at South Carolina on Sept. 19. Its SEC home opener will be against Missouri on Sept. 26.

The full 2026 SEC schedule was revealed on Dec. 11. Kickoff times and TV channels will be announced at a later date.

The Egg Bowl is schedule for Saturday, Nov. 28 at Ole Miss, but there’s a chance that moves dates like it did in 2025 to Black Friday.

New for 2026 is a nine-game conference schedule with three annual opponents. Mississippi State’s annual opponents are Ole Miss, Alabama and Vanderbilt. The Crimson Tide will play at Davis Wade Stadium on Oct. 3.

The Bulldogs had four nonconference games scheduled, but needed to drop to three with the extra conference game. The Sept. 19 game against Troy was replaced by the South Carolina game.

There is only one open date in 2026. MSU’s is on Oct. 10.

Mississippi State’s road start favors Kamario Taylor

Kamario Taylor is expected to be Mississippi State’s starting quarterback next season as a sophomore. He made his first career start in the Egg Bowl at Davis Wade Stadium this season and is expected to start the Duke’s Mayo Bowl against Wake Forest on Jan. 2.

That means 2026 will mark his first career road starts.

Playing at Minnesota in Week 2 shouldn’t be extremely daunting for Taylor. The Golden Gophers are a challenge, but not a top-tier team in the Big Ten. The next road game at South Carolina, who went 4-8 in 2025, shouldn’t be too bad either given MSU’s other SEC road opponents.
