The juggernaut that is Greenbrier flag football has been dominant yet again throughout the regular and postseasons. They will be headed to Mercedes-Benz Stadium for the third year in a row with a chance to win a third straight state championship. Standing in their way is a loaded Jenkins team that has only lost one game all season.

Here’s what you need to know about Greenbrier and Jenkins’ matchup during the state title game of the 2025-2026 GHSA Division 2 State Flag Football Championship.

Greenbrier (21-3) vs Jenkins (22-1)

  • When: Monday, Dec. 15, 1:00 p.m.
  • Where: Mercedes-Benz Stadium; 1 AMB Dr NW, Atlanta, Ga. 30313

On the outside looking in, it may seem like it was a foregone conclusion that Greenbrier would make it back to the state title game. In the two years prior that they won the championship, they went a combined 40-2 and were one of the most dominant teams in the entire state and arguably the whole country.

But between losing Daniel Jordan, the head coach who led the team to back-to-back state titles, along with players like Maggie Pangle and Kenzie Horton who were some of the best in the state at their positions, it certainly wasn’t a sure thing they’d be back in a contending position.

“I think people thought that we might take a step back,” said Greenbrier head coach Jamie Smith, “but that’s what makes this that much sweeter. That we were able to overcome a lot of the adversity that we haven’t had to overcome in the past.”

One the biggest tests of adversity for this team came from its regular season schedule. As a parting gift for his team, Jordan created a schedule that included five of the 10 teams that are currently playing in state title games and two other teams that made it to the semi final games.

“We played probably one of the toughest schedules ever, and our girls built that stamina. They knew they could respond, and they’ve gotten better because they played high quality teams,” Smith said. “It was not fun while we were going through it, I’ll tell you that. We felt like we were in playoff mode right out of the gate.”

That type of mentality and high pressure environment has prepared the Lady Wolfpack for their upcoming matchup versus the Lady Warriors. They shutout their opponents in 13 games this season and only allowed more than a touchdown one time. Their lone loss came against Grovetown in mid-October. Since that loss, they’ve won 13 straight in decisive fashion.

Jenkins offense, led by junior quarterback I’Yarna Lee, is the biggest concern for Smith and Greenbrier headed into the game. It averages over 25 points a game and is one of the most formidable in the state.

“That’s what these next few days are gonna have to be [about],” Smith said. “We have to find a way to slow that attack down.”

The Lady Wolfpack is led by sophomore quarterback Addisen Odom. She threw for 3,068 passing yards, which is 10th best in the state of Georgia, and threw for 50 touchdowns. Her top targets, seniors Aaliyah Silver and Lexi Lacey, both have 16 touchdowns on the year.

The defense of Greenbrier is equally as dominant. Senior Darcy Bridwell racked up 21 sacks this year, while junior Ari Boone has 13. Meanwhile in the secondary, sophomore Jayla Ayler has 13 interceptions. Silver and senior Finley Jones each have seven picks to their name as well.

On the line is a third straight state title for Greenbrier, cementing itself as a Georgia dynasty in flag football. Jenkins will surely give everything it has to get that title after coming up short over the last few years to prevent that though.
