It’s always interesting to watch and see how former Notre Dame players are doing with their new teams, and it looked like this was going to fall through the cracks due to all the College Football Playoff and ACC drama.
However Rocco Spindler, it looks like it was a success. The former Irish starter at guard decided to transfer this past offseason, after having a huge impact help make the College Football Playoff championship game in 2024. Spindler would end up at Nebraska, and while he was a starter for the Cornhuskers, they struggled this fall going 7-5, well below preseason expectations.
Nebraska fired its offensive line coach after the season, and Spindler followed the lead, announcing that he will be playing his next football hopefully in the NFL. While he won’t play in the bowl game, a finger injury is holding him out, there is still a chance he’ll get selected. As of right now, it’s hard to say where Spindler could get picked, as he’ll have to go through the upcoming evaluation process.
We wish nothing but the best for Rocco, as he looks to live out his dream and play in the NFL.
