Initial CFP ranking for Tennessee football in 2025

The first College Football Playoff rankings in the 2025 regular season were released on Tuesday in Week 11. Through nine games in 2025, Tennessee has a 6-3 (3-3 SEC) record.

Tennessee kicked off its 2025 campaign with a nonconference matchup against Syracuse (W, 45-26) in Atlanta, Georgia. Tennessee’s other nonconference games in 2025 are against East Tennessee State (W, 72-17), UAB (W, 56-24) and New Mexico State at Neyland Stadium.

The Vols’ SEC home schedule features contests against Georgia (L, 44-41 OT), Arkansas (W, 34-31), Oklahoma (L, 33-27) and Vanderbilt in 2025, while playing at Mississippi State (W, 41-34 OT), Alabama (L, 37-20), Kentucky (W, 56-34) and Florida.

Tennessee is ranked No. 25 in the initial College Football Playoff top 25 rankings. Ohio State is ranked No. 1 and Texas A&M is the highest ranked SEC team at No. 3.
