Texas A&M (11-1, 7-1 SEC) is now just eight days away from hosting Miami (FL) (10-2) in the first round of the College Football Playoff, as this will be the first appearance for both programs, and they will meet for the first time since the 2023 season. After losing to rival Texas during the regular season finale, head coach Mike Elko and his veteran team are determined to right the ship and take advantage of a sold-out Kyle Field.
Over the last five games, star running back Le’Veon Moss, one of the Aggies’ most important players, has been sidelined with an ankle injury. While he could have returned against the Longhorns, Elko smartly played the long game, wanting the senior back to be 100% healthy for the CFP.
However, Elko’s cryptic update this week, where he stated that every injured player is “great,” was not the answer Aggie fans were looking for. Still, on Friday afternoon, Texas A&M’s media team released the first look at the team back in practice this week, and Moss, who wears #8, was spotted briefly in the video, confirming that he’s healthy and ready to either start or rotate in next Saturday.
Before his injury, Moss was well on his way to breaking the century mark on the ground, producing 389 yards and six touchdowns, while averaging 5.6 yards per carry. In combination with the Louisiana native, senior linebacker Scooby Williams, and senior safety Bryce Anderson are also expected to be available after missing most of the regular season.
