The Iowa football program is receiving a lot of love from national media members in the few weeks since the regular season concluded.
The postseason accolades and awards have been plentiful for the Hawkeyes, with numerous All-American and All-Big Ten teams crowning current Hawks as some of the best players at their respective positions. Iowa even got involved with some prestigious individual awards, as center Logan Jones was named the Rimington Award winner. And those accolades continued here recently.
Iowa football took to X on Friday to announce that a pair of Hawks had been named Walter Camp First Team All-Americans: Logan Jones and Kaden Wetjen.

Being named a Walter Camp All-American is a very prestigious honor. It’s the oldest All-American team in the history of the sport, with this year marking the 136th year players have been named Walter Camp All-Americans. Iowa is one of just eight schools this year to have at least two First Team All-Americans. And it’s the seventh year in a row that the Hawkeyes have had a Walter Camp First Team All-American, which is the longest current streak for any FBS program.
Jones is the best center in college football, as shown by his Rimington Award trophy. He was a slam dunk to be the First Team center after an excellent senior season, during which he anchored an Iowa offensive line that’s a finalist for the Joe Moore Award. That unit kept quarterback Mark Gronowski clean for the most part and opened up big holes for a successful running game. Jones was a huge reason why.
Wetjen is the best returnman in the country, so his inclusion on the First Team is more than warranted. The senior had four return touchdowns in 2025, which was the most in the country. He led the nation in total punt return yards and average yards per punt return. He broke Tim Dwight’s program record for career return touchdowns, despite only returning kicks and punts for two seasons. A special season for Wetjen got the respect it deserved.
Iowa will look to continue its FBS-leading streak of Walter Camp First Team All-Americans next season, and there’s some great returning talent that can do that. Until then, Iowa fans can celebrate the fact that two fantastic Hawks got the recognition they deserved by being named Walter Camp First Team All-Americans.
