LSU interim coach Frank Wilson is ready to face Alabama football.

In the Tigers' first game after firing coach Brian Kelly, LSU will travel to Tuscaloosa to face the No. 4 Crimson Tide, a game Wilson views as an "opportunity" and one he feels his team is ready for.

"Preparation has been steady. A tremendous opportunity before us against a very quality opponent in Alabama," Wilson said Wednesday, Nov. 5, on the SEC football coaches media teleconference. "Tall task, but I think our team will be up for it. The presentation and preparation indicates that we're eager to go play, to better ourselves from our last outing. One day at a time. Growing our football team up to go to Tuscaloosa in a hostile environment to play to the best of our ability is our charge."

Wilson, a former head coach at UTSA and McNeese State, has been the associate head coach and running backs coach at LSU since 2022.

LSU has lost three of its last four games, all of which came against ranked SEC opponents. The Tigers' only ranked win came against Clemson in the season opener.

Alabama kicks off against LSU at 6:30 p.m. CT Saturday, Nov. 8, at Bryant-Denny Stadium.
