Greater Akron's finest football players earn All-Ohio honors

Several players from Greater Akron were honored when the All-Ohio teams were announced Dec. 8-11 by the Ohio High School Athletic Association.
The All-Ohio teams are selected by the Ohio Prep Sports Media Association panel from across the state.
Grady Kinsey of Gnadenhutten Indian Valley was announced as Ohio's Mr. Football Dec. 4 and the OHSAA football season wrapped up Dec. 4-6 with the state championship games in Canton in all seven divisions.
Here is a breakdown by division of the All-Ohioans from Summit County, plus Suburban League champions Highland and Wadsworth.
All-Ohio players in Division II from Greater Akron
Archbishop Hoban junior Brayton Feister and Brady Kuhn of Cincinnati Anderson were selected as the Division II Ohio Defensive Players of the Year. The Offensive Players of the Year were Ashland's Nathan Bernhard, Cincinnati Anderson's Owen Scalf and Sunbury Big Walnut's Nolan Buirley. Mount Vernon's Mark Weber was tabbed as the Coach of the Year.
Akron-area players who made All-Ohio first team were:
- Hoban junior linebacker-running back Brayton Feister: 133 tackles (39 for loss), 13 sacks, 4 forced fumbles, 2 interceptions, 2 touchdowns; 116 carries, 1,098 yards, 17 touchdowns
- Wadsworth sophomore quarterback Brysen Hall: 139-of-215 passing, 2,490 yards, 29 TDs, 4 INTs
- Highland senior running back Casey Myser: 147 carries, 1,268 yards, 24 TDs; 10 catches, 194 yards, 3 TDs
- Walsh Jesuit senior wide receiver Milan Parris: 50 catches, 785 yards, 11 TDs, TD pass, kickoff return TD
- Wadsworth senior wide receiver Calix Lemp: 46 catches, 999 yards, 15 TDs
- Hoban senior offensive lineman Sam Greer: 97% grade blocker, 0 sacks allowed, 47 pancake blocks
- Walsh senior offensive lineman Colton Crosley: helped offense score 33.0 points and gain 368 yards per game
- Hoban sophomore linebacker Brydon Feister: 110 tackles (22 for loss), 5 sacks, 2 forced fumbles, 2 recovered fumbles; 1 interception
- Hoban senior defensive back Elbert Hill IV: 43 tackles (5 for loss), 9 interceptions, 33 pass breakups, 1 blocked punt, 2 kickoff return TDs, 1 punt return TD; 23 carries, 301 yards, 12 catches, 201 yards, 1 TD
- Wadsworth senior defensive back-running back Gavin Madigan: 89 tackles (5½ for loss), 2 interceptions, 1 forced fumble; 107 carries, 1,102 yards, 21 TDs
- St. Vincent-St. Mary senior punter Rylan Hurley: averaged 46.8 yards with a long of 72 yards; 95 tackles (6 for loss), 2 forced fumbles
Akron-area players who made All-Ohio second team were:
- Nordonia junior QB Steven Fakult: 3,071 passing yards, 26 TDs, 4 INTs, 225 rushing yards, 6 TDs
- Walsh senior RB Marty Tobin: 182 carries, 1,856 yards, 18 TDs
- Highland junior WR-TE-LB Evan Foust: 14 catches, 255 yards, 4 TDs; 73 tackles (14 for loss), 3½ sacks, 5 forced fumbles, 1 interception
- Hoban senior DL Ace Brown: 44 tackles (18 for loss), 10 sacks, 3 forced fumbles
- Hudson senior LB-TE-QB Nathan Judy: 98 tackles (8 for loss), 4 sacks, 1 interception; 335 receiving yards, 5 TDs; blocked field goal
- Wadsworth senior LB Jacob Earnest: 106 tackles (10 for loss), 2½ sacks, 1 interception, 1 fumble recovery
- Highland senior LB Jameson Gordon: 71 tackles (10 for loss), 3 sacks, 2 interceptions, 2 forced fumbles 1 fumble recovery

- Green senior QB-P Tyson Hunka: 122-of-226 passing, 2,000 yards, 22 TDs, 7 INTs; 194 carries, 878 yards, 6 TDs; 12 punts, 31.2 average
- Green senior RB-LB Evan Reed: 122 carries, 600 yards, 7 TDs; 31 catches, 600 yards, 11 TDs; kickoff return TD
- Walsh senior LB Caden Carter: 96 tackles (6 for loss), 4 sacks, 2 interceptions
- Walsh senior DB Grant Blascak: 86 tackles, 2 interceptions

All-Ohio players in Division III from Greater Akron
CVCA senior Joey Kopec and Victor Singleton of Toledo Central Catholic were selected as the Division III Ohio Defensive Players of the Year. The Offensive Players of the Year were Columbus Bishop Watterson's Drew Bellisari and Oxford Talawanda's Lance Cantrell. Dresden Tri-Valley's Cameron West was tabbed as the Coach of the Year.
Akron-area players who made All-Ohio first team were:
- CVCA senior linebacker-running back Joey Kopec: 36 tackles (3 for loss), 2 forced fumbles, 1 sack, 1 interception in the regular season; offense stats including playoffs, 110 carries, 907 yards, 13 TDs and 7 catches, 143 yards and 1 TD
- Copley senior offensive lineman Lucas Tielsch: 46 pancake blocks; helped offense gain 4,080 yards and score 52 TDs
Akron-area player who made All-Ohio second team was:
- CVCA senior OL Ben Truax: 92% blocking efficiency, helped offense score 70 touchdowns (50 rushing, 20 passing), run for 3,909 yards and pass for 978 yards

- Copley senior WR-P Andrew McKnight: 51 catches, 1,098 yards, 17 TDs; 26 punts, 37.2 average
- East senior WR-DB Terrell Wharton Jr.: 29 catches, 703 yards, 8 TDs; 30 tackles, 3 interceptions
- Revere senior LB Nick Hall: 110 tackles (5 for loss), 4 interceptions, 2 sacks, 1 fumble forced, 1 fumble recovery, 1 receiving TD

- Elijah Sedor, Revere, sr., DL: 50 tackles (13 for loss), 12 sacks
- Marcus Henderson II, East, sr., DL-OL: 43 tackles (12 for loss), 3 sacks
- Terrel Karim Jr., East, jr., DL-TE: 42 tackles (19 for loss), 10 sacks, 1 interception, 1 TD; 31 catches, 503 yards, 4 TDs
- Tarrell Robinson, East, sr., LB: 70 tackles (19 for loss), 3 sacks, 1 interception, 3 fumble recoveries, 2 fumbles forced, 2 TDs

Kinsey shared Division IV Offensive Player of the Year with Brayden DeVito of Shelby. Cleveland Glenville's Cincere Johnson was selected as the Defensive Player of the Year. Shelby's Rob Mahaney was tabbed as the Coach of the Year.

- Norton senior WR-RB-DB-KR-PR Buddy Willig: 48 catches, 1,027 yards, 13 TDs; 18 carries, 102 yards, 5 TDs; 10 punt returns, 343 yards, 4 TDs; 1 kickoff return TD; 90 tackles (8 for loss), 1 sack, 1 intercepion, 1 fumble forced, 1 fumble recovery; 39.3 punting average

- Norton senior LB-RB Markus Brown: 103 tackles (10 for loss), 2 sacks, 1 forced fumble, 1 fumble recovery; 105 carries, 965 yards, 11 TDs; 4 catches, 54 yards

- Norton junior QB Trey Kersten: 101-of-155 passing, 1,784 yards, 29 TDs, 5 INTs; 64 carries, 260 yards, 4 TDs

- Norton junior RB-LB Jason Beverly: 108 carries, 964 yards, 17 TDs; 4 catches, 62 yards, 1 TD; 72 tackles (8 for loss), 4 sacks, 2 fumble recoveries, 1 interceptions, 1 TD
- Buchtel senior P-DB-WR Dwight Shade: 39.6 punting average; 40 tackles, 5 interceptions (3 returned for TDs); 19 catches, 235 yards, 1 TD
All-Ohio players in Division V from Greater Akron
Manchester landed two players on the All-Ohio team in Division V (with final stats):
- second team – junior RB Phil Partin: 125 carries, 1,196 yards, 10 TDs in seven games
- second team – senior DL Gavin Gindlesperger: 50 tackles (21 for loss), 13 sacks, 1 fumble recovery
All-Ohio players in Division VII from Greater Akron
Mogadore landed five players on the All-Ohio team in Division VII (with regular season stats):
- first team – senior RB-LB Conner Lehner: 170 carries, 1,234 yards, 15 TDs; 11 receptions, 160 yards, 2 TDs; 75 tackles, 3 INTs
- second team – senior DL-FB Dylan Benedum: 41 tackles (5 for loss), 3 sacks; 309 yards rushing, 5 TDs
- second team – junior DB-QB Maddox Smith: 42 tackles, 1 INT; 1,401 total yards of offense, 13 TDs passing, 4 TDs rushing
- honorable mention – junior WR-DB Kade Thomas: 29 receptions, 594 yards, 6 TDs; 1 interception
- honorable mention – senior OL-LB James Pollock: Wildcats top blocker; 52 tackles
