Could more Notre Dame football players to join the basketball team?

One of the biggest moves that Notre Dame basketball made this week was adding freshman cornerback Mark Zackery IV to the roster.

Saturday afternoon saw the Irish win their fourth game in-a-row, as they improved to 9-3 after trouncing Evansville 82-58. Braeden Shrewsberry went off, scoring 26-points while Sir Mohammed had 21-points off the bend. While Zackery didn’t get on the court, which was the right move after just joining the team, head coach Micah Shrewsberry was asked if he has spoken with football head coach Marcus Freeman about adding more of his players to this roster.

Shrewsberry joked that he would have love to have Tae Johnson or CJ Carr on the team, and even brought up Leonard Moore, but he knew that he was off the table. It’s interesting to see how both coaches have quite the working relationship, and you wonder if we’ll see more football players getting on the hardwood after the season is over.
