The Michigan football coaching search has been in full swing, very much behind the scenes, with very little in terms of who the top overall target it. It has been surmised that Alabama head coach Kalen DeBoer is perhaps the top target, but it appears that if he is, he's removing himself from contention.

In a statement released via Yea Alabama, which is officially tied to the Crimson Tide program, DeBoer says he is not interested in speaking with any other program about their coaching vacancy.

My family and I are very happy in Tuscaloosa and remain extremely grateful for the support of President Mohler, Greg Byrne, the board and so many others. We have an incredible opportunity in front of us, so my sole focus is on Alabama football and our preparations to play Oklahoma in the College Football Playoff.

I have not spoken and have no interest in speaking with anyone else about any other job. I am fully committed to this program and look forward to continuing as the head football coach at the University of Alabama.

If that holds true, then the Wolverines would likely continue to pursue other targets who may be in similar situations. Arizona State head coach Kenny Dillingham, Washington head coach Jedd Fisch, and others appear to be on the maize and blue's shortlist, but at this juncture, just four days after Sherrone Moore's firing (and subsequent crash out), it does not appear that Michigan had come to a conclusion as to who the overall top target is.
