Julian Sayin Had Mature Response To Funny Heisman Trophy Moment

Julian Sayin didn’t receive quite the same amount of fanfare as his other fellow Heisman finalists but the QB is taking it in stride.

As the Ohio State star arrived for Friday’s media session in New York, the Buckeyes sophomore had just one reporter at his table as dozens flocked to Indiana’s Fernando Mendoza and Vandy’s Diego Pavia.

But to the young man’s credit, he handled it as gracefully as any player could’ve in that situation; and Ohio State definitely has a good one heading into its national title defense.

Julian Sayin reacts to ‘funny’ Heisman moment

While the response to Sayin’s arrival wasn’t the reception he or others probably expected, the QB did a great job of handling the situation gracefully when asked about it on Saturday.

“I think I did see that, yeah,” Sayin said, (via Yahoo Sports). “It was funny. I’m at a great school in Ohio State. They do a great job with media. Whoever comes over here, I’d love to talk to them.”

Fans commend Sayin for ‘mature’ answer

“He’s such a good kid and people literally just hate him cuz he’s good,” a user replied. “I’m a fan for life.”

“The gotcha question failed,” another commented.

“He’s the one to watch,” a fan said. “Only a [sophomore], his Heisman is coming.”

“I’m an IU fan but I love how this kid handles himself on and off the field. Bright future,” another person shared.

“Julian is classy and always handles himself well. He must have good parents and coaches,” another user posted.

“He seems kind of quiet, probably enjoyed talking one on one instead of being in a crowd,” another fan pointed out.

The last thing the defending national champs needed was any added motivation going into the College Football Playoff and now they’ve found some — we’ll see if Sayin’s response belies a bit of productive anger the next time he takes the field.
