Awards continue to fly in for Auburn linebacker Xavier Atkins, who just enjoyed a breakout season on the Plains.

The Associated Press recently released its All-SEC team, where Atkins was included on the first team. Atkins joins Georgia's CJ Allen and Texas' Anthony Hill Jr. as first-team linebackers.

Atkins transferred to Auburn from LSU last offseason and immediately made a giant impact on the Tigers' defense. He led the team with 84 tackles and nine sacks, with two forced fumbles and a fumble recovery. His 84 tackles are tied for third-most in the SEC with Missouri's Josiah Trotter, and are five fewer than LSU safety AJ Haulcy's SEC-leading 89 tackles. He also tied Missouri's Damon Wilson for third place in sacks.

This is Atkins' third All-SEC honor. In addition to the nod from the Associated Press, Pro Football and Sports Network, and the SEC's coaches, they also included Atkins in their respective teams. He has also earned an All-American nod from the Walter Camp Award.
